Nolan Kido / Poker

Poker.

The game, the decisions,
and the work between tournaments.

I play tournament poker and am building a vlog around it. This is the companion to that work: a place for the story, the hands worth revisiting, and what can be learned after the cards are put away.

Understand the hand before the result.

Learn which cards win, follow the money in a pot, and make sense of a tournament's changing stakes. Use an example, reveal an answer, or look up one unfamiliar word.

From the table.

A home for episode companions, tournament stories, and individual hand reviews. Read the account, revisit the decision, or jump back to a moment in a published video.

A starting point

Review a hand, not just the result.

A worked, clearly fictional hand shows how to keep the action, original thinking, and later analysis separate.

No vlog episodes or tournament stories are published on this site yet. This guide and the study resources below are available now.

A useful record beats a perfect memory.

Keep one hand, one question, and one next step. The study desk has editable hand-review and session-debrief sheets, with instructions and blank previews.

Use these after play. No account, email gate, or submission of your answers.

The record and the review are not the same thing.

The account

Actual footage, recorded action, and remembered details have different limits. Reconstructed hands should make those limits visible.

The decision

Thinking at the table belongs beside the information available then, not a result learned afterward.

The review

Later analysis is an interpretation. An illustrative hand is labeled as an example, not presented as a personal result.

A hand, a question, a different perspective.

RSS lets a feed reader collect new Poker pages. It does not require an account on this site.
